Rome Airport Bus

The Rome Airport Bus (formerly known as Schiaffini bus) connects Ciampino Airport with Termini train station in a non-stop ride of 40 minutes.

In our opinion, the Rome Airport Bus has no outstanding benefits. Terravision, on the other hand, offers better service and is more budget-friendly.

The buses begin their journey from a stop in the municipality of Ciampino. From there, they go to the airport to pick up passengers and then continue directly to the Termini train station.

Tickets

The price for a one-way ticket by the Rome Airport Bus is € 9.90, considerably more expensive than Terravision. If you buy a round-trip ticket, the price is €13.90.

Currently, Rome Airport Bus doesn’t allow the purchase of online tickets. However, you can buy your tickets directly at the counter in the arrivals hall of Ciampino Airport (depending on available seats).

Schedule

Due to health measures to control COVID-19, the Rome Airport Bus schedule has been temporarily changed. The updated timetable can’t be found online yet.

However, if you’d like to use this service, please check what the new departure times are after arriving at Ciampino Airport.

Luggage restrictions

The travel conditions for the Rome Airport Bus indicate that all luggage must weigh less than 20 kg (44 lbs.) and must not exceed 80x45x25 cm (31x18x10 in) in size.

There is no indication of the maximum number of pieces that may be carried, from which it can be inferred that there are no restrictions.

Location of the bus stop

The Rome Airport Bus stop is number 3, just outside the terminal. The airport is small and when you exit, the first thing you see are the bus stops.
