SIT (Società Italiana Trasporti) buses are a less popular alternative for reaching Rome, but they can be convenient if you’re looking for comfort and convenience, especially if you’re traveling with a lot of luggage.
This service is specifically designed for cruise ship passengers. The departure point for the buses is the reception center at Largo della Pace and on the way, there are a couple of stops within Rome:
|Travel time||60 min.||75 min.|
|Details||The stop is located at Via Crescenzio 2, north of Castel Sant’Angelo.||The bus doesn’t stop right in front of Termini station, but at Piazza dell’Indipendenza, which is a 5-minute walk away.|
The cost of the SIT bus ticket is higher than that of the regional trains and equal to that of the Civitavecchia Express. However, with this service, it’s not necessary to go to the Civitavecchia train station, so it’s certainly more convenient and sometimes cheaper.
|Ticket type||One-way||Round trip|
Tickets can be purchased when boarding or in advance through the SIT website. Sometimes this service is in high demand, so it’s best to buy tickets online in advance to avoid the possibility that seats will run out.
The timetable for this service matches the arrival of the cruise ships:
|Monday to Sunday|
|Monday to Sunday||9:30||10:30||10:45|
