Yes, there are three main scooter-sharing companies in Valencia. They are Yego, Cooltra, and Acciona.
These are electric motorcycle-type scooters we are talking about. For electric kick-scooters (patinete in Spanish), you will have to go to specialised shops, as there currently are no apps in Valencia for those.

Most companies have a per-minute of use cost, so it really depends on how much you use the scooter. In any case, the companies have generally similar prices, with the most expensive option being around €0.31/min and the least expensive around €0.19/min.

You can park your scooter anywhere within the designated area, as long as you respect the parking rules. For example, you can’t park on bike lanes or anywhere where you would impede circulation (for example on a narrow sidewalk).

Yes, you need to be at least 18 and have a driver’s licence in order to rent a scooter in Valencia. However, the type of licence varies with the company. Cooltra and Yego accept licences AM, A1, A2, or B.
Acciona, which has more powerful vehicles, accepts only licences A, A1, or A2. A B licence is accepted only if you’ve had it for at least 3 years.

Normally, no. In any case, you can park and drive your electric scooter only in the designated area, determined by your scooter company.

No, the Albufera National Park is outside the designated area.

Scooter companies need up to two days to verify your documents and info. Until then, you won’t be able to use your account to get a scooter. Because of this, we always suggest beginning the account verification process ahead of time.

Yes, you can. In fact, the companies always provide two helmets inside the case.

Driving in itself without a phone is not a problem, but everything else is. You cannot reserve a scooter, activate the booking, or end it without your phone, so it’s imperative that your device is working for the entire duration of your reservation.

No, electric scooters are charged by the companies, you will always find them with enough battery for your journey.

To get a rental scooter in Valencia you will need a valid passport or identity card, a valid driver’s licence, a credit or debit card to pay for the rental, and a phone with data to use the scooter-sharing app.
