How to reach the train station
The cruise terminal of the Port of Civitavecchia consists of seven piers (10, 11, 12, 12bis, 13, 13bis and 25sud). All are provided with a free shuttle bus service that connects them to the reception center at the point known as Largo della Pace.
When you get off, you’ll have to wait for the bus to take you to the reception center. From there, you can take a public bus or walk to Civitavecchia train station, which is about 1 km away.
Portlink bus and public bus
There are two bus services on the route from Largo della Pace to the Civitavecchia train station.
The first is the Portlink bus, which is only available to passengers of the Civitavecchia Express. The second is a line of a public city bus. Both services run every 10 minutes and have a travel time of about 6 minutes.
To use the Portlink bus you don’t need to buy a ticket. You just need to show your Civitavecchia Express ticket.
A ticket for the public bus costs €2.00 and can be purchased at the ticket office in Largo della Pace or at pizzeria Mastro Titta, near the reception center.
By foot
It’s also possible to walk from Largo della Pace to the train station. This will take about 20 minutes and maybe a little longer if you’re carrying luggage.
If you choose this option, when you leave the reception center, cross the street to the fire station (vigili del fuoco in Italian). If you turn left, you will see a traffic circle. Turn right at the second exit (the first is a dead end) and continue straight on that road.
The route is very well marked. Simply follow the signs that say “stazione” on them.
If you don’t want to go through Largo della Pace, it’s best to take the free bus that runs along the quay and get off on the side of Fort Michelangelo. From there, it’s just a 10-minute walk to Civitavecchia’s train station.
