Visit all your favourite celebrities and historical figures in Paris’ wax museum, the Musée Grévin

Paris’ Musée Grévin is one of Europe’s oldest wax museums, similar to Madame Tussauds . Much like its British counterpart, the Grévin is much appreciated by families and visitors of all ages.

Given the Grevin wax museum’s popularity, especially among young audiences, we suggest getting your tickets in advance to avoid long queues (especially if you have kids). You can do so here .

The wax museum’s collection gets continuously updated. It normally holds over 450 wax statues representing famous international and French figures. You can expect to find movie stars, athletes, politicians, and popular artists in the contemporary section of the Grévin.

In the historical section, you’ll have a panorama of French history from 9th-century Charlemagne to 19th-century Napoleon III , including recreated scenes from the French Revolution . Some of the oldest wax figures are originals from the 19th and 20th centuries.

The museum, housed in a Baroque building, was founded in 1882 and named after caricaturist Alfred Grévin, its first artistic director. Among the many rooms, you’ll find the impressive Hall of Mirrors. This hall was originally constructed in 1900, but it was restructured in 2018.
