Public and bank holidays in Paris

Make sure you know when Paris’ bank holidays and celebrations are. That way you’ll be able to plan and organise your holiday in the city according to any events that might be going on.

On public holidays you might find that supermarkets, shops (especially the smaller and local ones), tourist venues, and offices are closed.

For example, museums in Paris are always closed on the 1st of May and the 25th of December. Some of them also close for New Year’s, Victory Day, Bastille Day, or All Saints.
